Archicad: New Connector Officially Launched!

As part of 2.18, we’re happy to announce the launch of our Archicad connector. After an evolutionary journey from its early alpha stage, this connector has now emerged as a fully featured and robust solution for seamless 3D model exchange and collaboration between project teams.
Past Releases: Enhancing Connectivity and Stability
In previous releases, we've diligently worked to refine and enrich the Archicad connector. Here's a glimpse of the key features and improvements that have paved the way to its current maturity:
- Comprehensive Support: Expanded support for various types, including walls, columns, beams, slabs, roofs, and more.
- Enhanced Revit Connectivity: Improved connectivity with Revit including levels and zones - rooms.
- New Send Method: Streamlined selection of model objects by element type when publishing.
- More Object Properties: Inclusion of object properties such as classifications, and layers.
- Faster Performance: Better mesh conversion and handling of non-coplanar faces.
- Instancing: Ability to receive Rhino blocks and Revit families as Archicad objects, fostering better connectivity across authoring tools.
- Grids: Structural grids can be sent and received across Speckle connectors including Archicad.
- Stability & Usability: Significant stability improvements and usability enhancements for a smoother user experience.
- Alignment with Other Connectors: Improved compatibility with other connectors with model collections.

Building upon the solid foundation of the alpha version, the latest 2.18 update introduces new functionalities and optimisations:
- Quantities and Custom User Properties: Empowering you with the flexibility to incorporate custom properties and manage quantities effectively.
- Support for Apple Silicon: Enhanced compatibility for Mac users.
- Support for Archicad 27: You can upgrade to get the best experience in Archicad workflows.

As we move forward, our commitment remains steadfast to further enhancing this connector’s capabilities. Here's a glimpse of what's on the horizon:
- Improved Revit Connectivity: Aiming for closer alignment with IFC Coordination View MVD for seamless coordination between Archicad and Revit.
- Mapping Archicad Objects to Revit Families: Simplifying the mapping process to facilitate smoother transition and interoperability.
- More Send Methods: For even greater publishing flexibility, selection of views and schedules will be added.
- Analytical Stick Model Support: Expanding support to include analytical stick models for structural workflows.
