Archi-Tech Network (ATN)’s first episode of Pecha Kucha in the Pub was about Design Technology In Practice.
The lineup included seven speakers presenting in the Pecha Kucha format (20 slides, 20 seconds per slide), including RPBW, Zaha Hadid, KPF, F+P, Heatherwick Studio, Benoy, and Grimshaw. Many innovative and modern ways to drive design technology in practice were shared on the day.
Benoy and Speckle: Enabling Cross-Collaboration in AEC
We invited Ami Nigam, Head of Technology at Benoy, to showcase how Speckle adds value to his team. Ami explained how Speckle helped with collaborating effectively to integrate design solutions and maximise the impact of specialist workflows.
He described Speckle as being ‘democratic in its ability,’ encouraging different teams to work simultaneously on Revit, Rhino, and Blender while collaborating. Teams can work effectively towards their respective project deliverables by accessing data and iterations in a more granular way,
Benoy’s Favourite Speckle Feature
Ami describes Speckle as Benoy’s data hub, where teams can leverage Speckle’s Viewer to look at different models in real time. Teams can compare Revit against Rhino against Grasshopper analyses to ensure effective project coordination.
In parallel, the senior leadership can access these models from anywhere and sketch on their iPads if they wish to, by interacting and sharing feedback through Speckle’s commenting feature.
It was great attending and contributing to the first episode of the ATN Pecha Kucha in the Pub saga. Thank you ATN for this innovative concept, we’re looking forward to the next one!
